Company formation & doing business in Spain

Whether you register as self-employed or form a company, the choices made at the start (structure, registration, tax and accounting) shape everything that follows. We set them up properly from day one.

What it is

Doing business in Spain starts with a choice of form: self-employment (autónomo) or a company, most often a limited company (Sociedad Limitada). Each has different tax, liability and administrative consequences, and the right answer depends on the activity, the income expected and the people involved.

We advise on the choice, handle the registration and tax set-up, and put the accounting in place so the business is compliant from its first invoice. Where the founder is also relocating, we coordinate with the residency and tax-residency questions at the same time.

When it is useful

  • You are starting a business in Spain
  • You are moving to Spain and bringing an activity with you
  • You are deciding between self-employment and a company
  • A foreign company needs a presence in Spain
  • You want a holding structure for activity abroad
  • Your current set-up no longer fits the business
