Business Advisory

Business analysis

We analyse how a business makes and spends money, where performance is constrained and what would change the outcome, then define practical actions.

What it is

Business analysis is a structured look at the business model, revenue and cost structure, unit economics and competitive position. It answers specific questions: why margins are falling, whether a model can scale, which customers or products actually make money.

The output is evidence and a short list of actions, not a long report.

Commercial and financial analysis. Not a statutory audit, legal opinion or regulated investment advice.

When it is useful

  • Revenue is growing but profit is not
  • You are considering a change of pricing or model
  • You need an independent view before raising capital
  • A new market or product line is under consideration
  • The business depends on a few customers or people
  • You want to know whether the business can scale

What we assess

Scope is agreed up front; not every engagement needs every area.

Business model

How value is created, delivered and captured.

Revenue & pricing

Revenue mix, pricing logic and price sensitivity.

Cost structure

Fixed and variable costs, and what drives them.

Unit economics

Contribution per customer, order or product.

Competitive position

Differentiation, substitutes and market demand.

Scalability

What breaks first as volume grows.

How we work

  1. Question

Agree the decision and what needs to be known.

  2. Evidence

Financials, operating data and market information.

  3. Analysis

Where performance is concentrated or constrained.

  4. Actions

Practical, prioritised changes and their expected effect.

Typical situations

Illustrative situations, not client case studies.

A multi-site business with falling margins

Contribution by site and service line, to see where margin is actually being lost.

A B2B services firm planning expansion

Unit economics tested against the assumptions behind the new market.

A founder preparing to raise capital

The model and forecast reviewed for weak or untested assumptions.
